INTRODUCTION IN IE DE R HU I S E E N BU N N I K PL A N T NL - Een huis is nog geen ‘thuis’, want ‘thuis’ is de plek waar je tot rust komt in een fijne omgeving. Planten leveren een grote bijdrage aan het verbeteren van die omgeving. Naast hun vaak bijzondere vormen, zuiveren ze de lucht en verhogen ze de luchtvochtigheid. De kleur groen geeft rust en maakt je relaxed. Daarnaast staat de kleur groen voor groei en ontwikkeling. Kortom: van planten word je blij! Al generaties lang kweekt de familie Bunnik planten. Ze begonnen met het kweken van komkommers en later pionierde ze op het gebied van sierplanten, waarin ze zich specialiseerde in de Bromelia soorten. Kenmerkend van de familie Bunnik is dat de planten altijd met veel passie en gedrevenheid gekweekt worden. Dit zorgt er voor dat producten van Bunnik altijd voldoen aan de hoogst mogelijke kwaliteit. “De mens in het midden”, een filosofie van Leonardo Da Vinci, welke ook van toepassing is op de huidige denkwijze van Bunnik Plants. Zo komen de planten, in de meeste gevallen, naar de mensen toe in plaats van andersom. Daarnaast werkt iedereen in een heerlijk klimaat en op de ideale werkhoogte. Elk bedrijf is voorzien van een prachtig ontworpen kantine in een bepaald thema, zoals een Skihut of Amsterdams plein. Op alle Bunnik bedrijven wordt meerdere keren per week vers fruit bezorgd en is er een padelbaan voor de dagelijkse portie beweging.

Each company has a beautifully designed canteen in a certain theme, such as a Après-ski bar or Amsterdam square. At all Bunnik companies fresh fruit is delivered several times a week and there is a padel court for daily exercise.

Z UIN IG O P O NZ E M OOI E W E R E L D NL - Naast de passie en gedrevenheid voor het zo efficiënt mogelijk kweken van planten, proberen we dit ook op een zo milieuvriendelijk mogelijke manier te doen. Zo voldoen onze kwekerijen aan de hoogste standaard op het gebied van duurzaamheid, energie besparing en CO 2 uitstoot. Een aantal voorbeelden hiervan zijn de aanvoer van CO 2 en warm water uit de Botlek. CO 2 afkomstig van de vuilverbranding AVR zetten onze planten middels assimilatie of fotosynthese om in zuurstof. Het warme water (80˚C) dat we aangeleverd krijgen, is afkomstig van een elektriciteitscentrale, waar het werd gebruikt als koelwater. Hierdoor kunnen we een groot deel van onze kwekerijen verwarmen met een aanzienlijk mindere hoeveelheid aardgas. Naast deze externe bronnen zijn onze kwekerijen zelf ook gebouwd om zo duurzaam mogelijk te kweken. Zo wordt het gietwater grotendeels hergebruikt, maken we gebruik van biologische bestrijding, zetten we voor de bevruchting van onze vruchtdragende plantsoorten hommels in en sorteren we afval. Hiernaast zijn we constant op zoek naar duurzame alternatieven voor bijvoorbeeld eenmalig plastic, zoals papieren hoezen, kartonnen tray’s en onze vooruitstrevende display doos die het retour halen van de traditionele euro- en\of deense karren voorkomt. We zijn het meest trots op de meer dan 7500 zonnepanelen die verspreid liggen over 3 vestigingen. Bijna vanzelfsprekend is het feit dat ons vrachtwagenpark uitgerust is met een vloot die voldoet aan de strengste norm op het gebied van brandstofverbruik, stikstof en CO 2 uitstoot.
EN - Besides the passion and drive for growing plants as efficiently as possible, we also try to do this in the most eco-friendly way possible. In this way, our nurseries meet the highest standards in terms of sustainability, energy savings and CO 2 emissions. A few examples of this are the supply of CO 2 and hot water from the Botlek. Our plants convert CO 2 from the AVR incineration process into oxygen by means of assimilation or photosynthesis. The hot water (80˚C) that we receive, comes from a power station, where it was used as cooling water. This enables us to heat a large part of our nurseries with a considerably lower amount of natural gas. In addition to these external sources, our nurseries have also been built to grow as sustainably as possible. For example, most of the water is reused, we sort waste, we use biological control and we have bumblebees to fertilise our fruit-bearing plant species. In addition, we are constantly looking for sustainable alternatives to, for example, disposable plastic, such as paper sleeves, cardboard trays and our advanced display box that prevents the return of traditional euro- and Danish carts. We are most proud of the more than 7500 solar panels that are spread over three locations. Almost self-evident is the fact that our truck meets the strictest standards in terms of fuel consumption, nitrogen and CO 2 emissions.

ABOUT THE BONSAI RANGE NL - De Bonsai serie bestaat voor het grootste deel uit Ficus Restusa geënt op een S-model of een Ginseng model onderstam. De basis van deze planten wordt in China gekweekt door een selecte groep kwekers. Eenmaal aangekomen in Nederland wordt het kweekproces in onze speciaal ingerichte Bonsai kwekerij afgerond.
EN - The Bonsai range consists for the most par t of Ficus Restusa grafted on an S-model or Ginseng model rootstock. The base of these plants is grown in China by a select group of growers. Ondanks het beperkte assortiment is de Flowering range zeker een groep die we graag willen laten zien. De Tillandsia Cyanea kunnen we met recht de “Padre familias” van Bunnik Plants noemen. Het is de langst geteelde plantsoort van Bunnik Plants. Van de Kalanchoe heeft Bunnik Plants meerdere potmaten in het assortiment, van de schattige 7cm tot de robuuste 23cm schaal. Geschikt voor zowel binnen als, wanneer het weer het toelaat, buiten.
