TOURNAMENT WELCOME FROM THE GM

Welcome to all of our participating teams and supporters who embark on Bulleen and surrounds for the second year of our annual U10 Kings Birthday Tournament.

Following last year’s resounding success, we’re confident that this event will continue to grow and remain a staple on the Basketball Victoria calendar for many years to come.

Testament to the execution of year one is that we are proud to have expanded participation from 20 teams to 30 teams in the twelve-month period which will allow for a more tiered level of competition as we have a mixture of Associations who use this event to facilitate a pathway towards their U12 VJBL programs while others are local teams from a variety of Clubs across Victoria expericing tournament play for the first time.

We welcome back Kilsyth, McKinnon, Craigieburn and Hawthorn who all had multiple teams entered in both genders in year one while new entries from Melton, Keilor and a special shoutout to the boys from Macedon Ranges who will make the trek down the Calder Freeway set the stage for a great weekend.

I would like to thank all of my staff and the behind the scenes volunteers who will assist in facilitating the event and to all coaches and visitors please remember to enjoy the weekend by exercising self-control while allowing the players to showcase their ability in a fun environment and officials to manage the on-court action.

Thanks for your support.
