We welcome the players, coaches and families from the following teams who will actively participate in the BIG V Game experience today!
We enter Round 5 coming off a solid win against the Camberwell Dragons. Keli Romas shone in the game finishing with 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals.
This week, we face the McKinnon Cougars who are looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Warnambool on the road.
The key matchup for this week will be at the point guard position between recent teammates in Amy Baum and Em Maltezos. Maltezos was part of the 2023 championship team and has been off to a hot start averaging 16 points and 2 assists for the Cougars. Likewise, Baum has begun the season with an All Star 5 level of performance contributing 9.6 points, 9.6 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 steals per game.
This will be a game of two styles, as we must lock in on the great isolation scoring of Matezos and import A'Lexxus Davis (12 points per game). McKinnon will no doubt try to pressure and push us out of our movement centric offence.

Welcome to the game, tonight marks 1/3 of the regular season in the books and while it still feels like early days with our disjointed schedule, the games will come thick and fast from this point forward so we must continue to defend our home floor.
Last week we hosted a well-connected Chelsea team in a game that could have gone either way down the stretch. Ultimately Matt Fennell put in a performance for the ages capturing weekly league All-Star honors for his 39pts and 7rebs at an unbelievable 71% from the field but was ably assisted by Tyrone Tonkin with 15pts, Kraig Shields 14pts & 11rebs and Andrew Noller put in his best performance since crossing from Waverley.
Tonight’s match-up sees local rival Warrandyte visit who currently sit with a 1-4 record but similarly to ourselves, they were active in the off-season retooling their roster so we’re under no illusion of the task at hand as they will only continue to gel and solidify roles the more they play together.
They are anchored by ex-NBL Development Player Tristan Forsyth who is averaging 25.2ppg & 14rpg which is top 3 across the league in both categories and paired with stretch four Oscar Percy who has US college experience currently averaging 13.4ppg & 5rpg.
Last week they pushed 2nd placed Whittlesea only going down by four points after trailing by 13 at halftime and having played RMIT (1st place) and Whittlesea (2nd place) twice in their five games shows wins aren’t far away.
To all our fans we appreciate your support, I hope you enjoy the night and spread the word as we would love to pack out EDSC throughout the season.
