COACHES CORNER – PREVIEW FROM THE COACH

This week the Championship Women face the reigning champions, the Wyndham Devils. This will not only be a grand final rematch, but also the two remaining undefeated teams going head to head.
The Championship Women come into the game having played only one game in the past three weeks, however, hopefully, this means the team is well-rested and ready for a big win. In the last game, the Boomers defeated the Hume City Broncos 81-67. The team secured the victory by committee with five different players scoring in double figures, led by Olivia Bontempelli who continues her red-hot start to the season averaging 21 points per game. Other key contributors were Ally Keating and Dani Kujovic who both were impactful with their energy and defence off the bench.
The Wyndham Devils are led by import Amanda Paschal and WNBL development player Dyani Ananeiv. The two are a devastating combination, averaging a combined 40 points per game. Wyndham are known for the run-and-gun style of play, averaging a whopping 43.6 three-point attempts per game. It will be important for the Boomers to lock in on Wydnham's stars early and contest the three-point shots to keep our undefeated season alive.

COACHES CORNER – PREVIEW FROM THE COACH

Welcome back to EDSC for our D1 Men’s fifth home game of the season. Yet again the game is another important one for us as we look to push ahead to 4 wins and 3 losses and now that every team has lost at least one match we can really assert ourselves on the upper end of the ladder
A special welcome to the U14/1 Boomers boys and families who are the first team to experience our ‘Team of the Week’ experience, we hope you have a fantastic night and we see you back throughout the remainder of the season.
Last week the team had a great win against a Chelsea team that had come down from Championship Division but had seen little success in Division One to date. Peter Deng was electric with 28 points including 4 three-pointers, Joshua Uhr-Henry again was solid but the real story was Bulleen junior Callum O’Neil who tallied 19 points including two dunks and some great offensive rebounding.
Tonight’s opponent is Warrandyte who have put together a solid season so far and have the same record as us. They have some talent that we will need to handle and are led by import Michael Birt II (32ppg), while other contributors have been Matthew Scammell and Mitch Hawley
We will be looking for Josh Uhr-Henry to continue to stuff the stats sheet again and for Peter Deng to make spectacular athletic plays that excite the crowd and turn the momentum of a game.
This game promises to be a great one as both teams look to stay above 50% in the win column and we continue our focus on climbing the ladder, building on our improving form.
Thanks for your support, we hope you enjoy the night and spread the word as we would love to pack out 'EDSC' throughout the season.
