BOOMERS 2023

Welcome back to EDSC for our D1 men’s team’s second home game of the season. It is shaping up as an important game for the team as they fight to keep an even record.

Last week the team traveled to Shepparton to take on the title favourites. The raucous crowd helped Shepparton to an early lead via some good shooting but the Boomers stayed the course and were within ten by the half. Evan Sokalidis sparked the team in the second half making three 3-pointers in a row to bring the Boomers within four points but Shepparton’s experience and home crowd brought them home.

Tonight’s game has shaped up as an important one for the team as we want to go into the Easter break with 2 wins and 2 losses and momentum. This urgency will see the team energised and focused for the task at hand.

Today’s opponent is early ladder leaders Pakenham, who are led by import Joe Davis (30ppg) who will be looking to continue his good form and Boomers will be looking to limit his production as much as possible. Pakenham also boasts a good supporting cast and are a dangerous team.

We will be looking to our own star players Josh Uhr Henry has made a fantastic start to the season by averaging 20ppg and 14 rb over the first 3 games and Evan Solakidis is coming off an impressive 25 points including 5 three-pointers in our last game.

This game promises to be a great one as Pakenham look to build on early season success and we look to go into the Easter Break with some momentum.

Thanks for your support, we hope you enjoy the day and spread the word as we would love to pack out 'EDSC' throughout the season.
