We welcome the players, coaches and families from the following teams who will actively participate in the BIG V Game experience today!
It’s time for serious business! The Youth League Women are thrilled to play in tonight Semi Final at EDSC against the Wyndham Devils.
Last week, our group had our first bye after finishing 2nd on the ladder. Instead of taking the weekend off, those of the girls who didn’t attend Basketball Victoria’s All State SDP Camp, filled into cars and drove up Burwood Highway to support our Champ Women who played against Sherbrooke. It was a great night and awesome opportunity to see a very competitive and tough game played.
For tonights Semi Final, we welcome the Wyndham Devils, who we only beat by 1pt three weeks ago down at Eagle Stadium. With so much to play for, we know it will be a very tough game. It will require a full squad effort to secure the win, and hopefully move forward to next week's Grand Final.
This season has been one of the most enjoyable and rewarding seasons I have ever participated in. It has been a joy to see the team improve and bond throughout the entire season. The girls have continuously pushed themselves outside of their comfort zones and always given 120% effort. It is this determination to exceed expectations that has landed us in this final tonight. Lauren and I are extremely proud of the girls and cannot wait to see what tonight holds. Win or lose; it will be a fantastic display of women’s basketball.
As always, thankyou for your support for the entire season. Bring all the energy you can muster for tonight’s final! Make it loud!!!
Go Boomers!
CAITLIN BRYAN– YLW HEAD COACHThe Championship Women are back at East Doncaster Secondary College for their final game of the regular season. The Boomers are coming off a commanding win against 3rd place Sherbrooke where the whole team represented 'Bulleen Basketball' in a finals preview. Currently sitting 2nd with an impressive 17-3 record, the Boomers are looking to finish the season on a high against a deep and well drilled Pakenham Warriors team.
Pakenham are led by dynamic scoring guard Hailie Nickerson who is currently averaging 20.5 points per game. This game could have dramatic consequences for the finals structure, as a win could secure Pakenham the 4th place spot on the ladder and allow them to sneak into finals.
