Baby Class
This class is unofficial and for babies aged 3-6 months.
Puppy Class
This class is unofficial and for puppies aged 6-9 months.
Junior Class – 9-18 months.
Intermediate Class – 15-24 months.
Open Class – From 15 months. These three classes overlap, allowing assessment of the dog's physical development to determine the best fit.
Veteran Class – Dogs in the veteran class compete for CAC but not for CACIB at international shows. Veterans can be entered in the Champion class, Open class, or Veteran class.
Champion Class – Dogs entered in the champion class do not compete for a certificate (CAC) if they are already Danish champions. For foreign dogs, documentation of national or international championship status must be provided. Danish Champions can be entered in the Champion class, Open class, or Veteran class.
Pair Class – For two dogs presented as a pair. A male and a female of the same breed and breed variety, owned by the same person. They should resemble each other as much as possible while still showing gender characteristics.
Breeding Class – Consists of one parent and four offspring (first generation: sons/ daughters). The dogs must be entered in the show in either the Champion, Junior, Intermediate, Open, or Veteran class. (However, the breeding dog in a breeding class can be entered without assessment). Babies and puppies, as well as dogs that have been awarded "Disqualified" or "Cannot Be Judged," cannot participate.
Breeder's Class – Consists of four dogs of the same breed and breed variety, regardless of gender. All dogs must be bred by the same breeder (same kennel name). For breeds requiring a trial qualification for participation in the breeder's class, at least two dogs in the class must have met the required trial standard. The dogs must be entered in the show in either the Champion, Junior, Intermediate, Open, or veteran class. Puppies and dogs awarded "Disqualified" or "Cannot Be Judged" cannot participate.

At our Bulldog Club shows, a Child and Bulldog competition is held. The following classes can be entered: 4-6 years / 7-10 years / 11-17 years
Participation is FREE. In the first two classes, an adult is allowed to assist the youngest children in the ring during judging.
Awarded to a dog that comes very close to the ideal breed standard, is presented in excellent condition, has a harmonious and well-balanced temperament, and is of high quality. The dog's outstanding breed-specific characteristics allow minor faults to be overlooked. The dog must clearly exhibit gender characteristics.
Awarded to a dog that possesses the typical traits of its breed, has well-balanced proportions, and is in good condition. Minor faults can be tolerated, but no significant anatomical flaws. This rating can only be given to dogs of high quality.
Awarded to a dog that is typical of its breed, with exterior faults that are not so prominent as to prevent it from being considered a good representative of its breed.
Awarded to a dog that meets the breed standard but lacks the generally desired characteristics or is in poor physical condition.
Additionally, the ratings CANNOT BE JUDGED or DISQUALIFIED may be given.
Indicates that the judge cannot determine which rating the dog deserves.
Within each class, dogs from the highest quality group (Excellent) compete in placement judging, where the best are ranked as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners. If more than four dogs have received Excellent, they are also placed but do not receive a ribbon. If fewer than four dogs are in the highest quality group, dogs from the secondbest quality group (Very Good) are also included in the competition. Dogs that the judge considers to be of champion quality are awarded CK (Champion Quality Certificate).
The judge may award CK (Champion Quality Certificate) to dogs whose quality is deemed high enough. However, the dog must have previously been awarded Excellent. All dogs that receive CK advance to the Best of Sex class.
Dogs that have received CK must compete for the Best of Sex title. Here, all males or all females that received CK compete for placement in Best of Sex, where they are ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. At the same time as the Best of Sex placements, Certificates (CAC) and CACIB (at international shows) are also awarded.
Step by step, the judging progresses until the competition for Best of Breed (BOB) (red/ yellow rosette) and Best of Opposite Sex (BOS) (green/white rosette), where only a few dogs remain.
The dog that wins Best of Breed (BOB) advances to the afternoon Group Finals in the Main Ring, where dogs of different breeds but within the same group compete. The winners of the 10 Group Finals then proceed to the Best in Show (BIS) competition, where the overall best dog of the show is crowned.

The breeds are separated into English and French Bulldog.
Requirements for all competitions:
The owner(s) must be a member of the Bulldog Club with at least 3 months of membership. The dog(s) must have participated in at least 3 official competitions during the same calendar year. For example, if a dog has been placed twice in the Junior class and once in the Intermediate class, but at the end of the year it has accumulated the most points in the Junior class, it will be named Junior of the Year (male/female).
Owner information must be provided upon registration, though it is not a requirement. If a dog appears on the list with incorrect ownership details, we reserve the right to remove the points. In case of doubt, the dog’s owner bears the burden of proof. This applies also to Breeder, Stud Dog, and Pair classes.
Notes: No points will be awarded retroactively.
Declarations of disposition and backdated ownership transfers are not accepted. If a dog changes ownership from one member to another, the points already earned follow the dog.
In the Year Competition, dogs entered in Junior, Intermediate, Open, or Champion classes participate. The title can be registered with DKK.
Club Winner (KLBV + Year)
Class Winners of the Year:
Junior, Intermediate, Open, and Champion.
In the Year Competition, dogs compete separately in each class to become Junior Dog of the Year (male/female), Intermediate Dog of the Year (male/female), Open Dog of the Year (male/female), and Champion Dog of the Year (male/female). This title cannot be registered with DKK. Points earned in these competitions are automatically transferred to the competition for Dog of the Year.
In the Year Competition, only dogs entered in the Veteran class (over 8 years old) can compete for the titles Veteran Dog of the Year (male/female).
Club Veteran Winner (KLBVV + Year)
If two dogs are tied, the dog with fewer show participations will be placed first. If they are still tied, the dog that has beaten the most competitors will win. If there is still a tie, the dog with the most Best of Breed (BIR) placements will win.
The title is awarded to the breeder whose dogs have earned the most points per show. Points from up to 5 dogs are counted per show. The points are added together for all shows during the year, and the breeder who has earned the most points will receive the title Top Breeder of the Year. The dogs do not have to be owned by the breeder themselves. All points count from the show, including quality points, Best of Sex
The title is awarded to the breeder whose dogs have earned the most points in the Breeder's class at the year's shows.
The dogs do not need to be owned by the breeder themselves.
The title is awarded to the stud dog with 4 offspring that has earned the most points in the Stud Dog class at the year's shows. The dogs do not have to be owned by the same person.
The title is awarded to the pair of two dogs that have earned the most points in the Pair class at the year's shows. The pair must consist of one male and one female. Both dogs must be owned by the same person or persons.
If two or more dogs are tied in the competition, the one with the most top placements will win. If they are still tied, the dog with the best results at shows with the highest number of entered dogs will win.
Trophies will be awarded to all title winners on Bulldog Day.
Diplomas will be awarded to Dog of the Year (male/female), Breeder of the Year, Top Breeder of the Year, Stud Dog of the Year, and Pair of the Year
These will be awarded at the same time as the trophies.
Continuous result lists will be available in Bulldogbladet, on www.bulldogklubben.dk, and on the Bulldog Club's Facebook page. Result lists will be kept for each of our two breeds. These result
Club Certificates are only awarded at Bulldog Club's own shows. The certificate is exclusively awarded to Bulldog Club members with at least 3 months of membership. The certificate will be passed on to the next placed dog in the class that has been awarded CK if the exhibitor incorrectly stated at the time of the award that they were a member.
CLUB CHAMPION (KLBCH)
The title is awarded in the Champion Class and can be obtained by dogs that win 1st place in the Champion Class at 3 club shows with at least 3 different judges. The certificate may be awarded to any dog in the class that has been awarded CK, provided that the preceding dogs are already KLBCH and meet the club's requirements.
CLUB JUNIOR CHAMPION (KLBJCH)
The title can be obtained by dogs that win 1st place in the Junior Class at 2 club shows with at least 2 different judges.
The Club Junior Certificate can be awarded to any dog in the class that has been awarded CK, provided that the preceding dogs are already KLBJCH and meet the club's requirements.
CLUB VETERAN CHAMPION (KLBVCH)
The title can be obtained by dogs that win 1st place in the Veteran Class at 2 club shows with at least 2 different judges.
The Club Veteran Certificate can be awarded to any dog that has been awarded CK in the class, provided that the preceding dogs are already KLBVCH and meet the club's requirements.
Breeding Classes:
DKK will no longer hold breeding classes at its own shows due to declining interest. However, special clubs and districts can still organize these classes.
Judging Process & Championship Rules:
Baby and Puppy Classes:
The titles "Very Promising" (SL), "Promising" (L), and "Less Promising" (ML) will be removed. Going forward, the best baby and puppy of the breed must achieve a "Honor Prize" (HP) to qualify for the Main Ring.
Certificates:
Dogs under 24 months that have already received 2 certificates cannot be awarded additional certificates until after they turn 24 months. In such cases, the certificate will go to the next highest-placed certificate-eligible dog.
New Competition:
The category "Best Junior of the Breed" will be introduced and will be conducted in the same manner as "Best Veteran of the Breed."
New Competition in the Big Ring:
"Best Junior of the Show" will be added as a new category in the final competitions.
Breeding Classes:
The competition "Best Breeding Group of the Show" is removed from DKK's show program due to low participation, but other organizers can still hold this competition.
Use of Leashes on Grooming Tables:
The use of a leash during grooming should be limited to brief periods.
Collars and Leashes:
For the welfare of the dogs, all collars and leashes must be equipped with a stop to prevent choking. This means that choke chains are now prohibited at all shows in Denmark starting from 01.01.2025.
Danish Champion (DKCH)
The title can be obtained by dogs that are 24 months old and have received 3 certificates from 3 different judges. The last certificate must be obtained after the dog turns 24 months old. As of 01.01.2025, a dog that is not yet 2 years old (24 months) can only receive 2 certificates; after this, the certificate will go to the next placed dog eligible to use it.
Danish Junior Champion (DKJCH)
The title can be obtained by dogs competing in the Junior Class who have received 3 Junior Certificates from 3 different judges.
Danish Veteran Champion (DKVCH)
The title can be obtained by dogs competing in the Veteran Class who have received 3 Veteran Certificates from 3 different judges.
International Champion (CIB / INTCH)
The title requires 4 CACIBs (International Certificates) in at least three different countries under at least three different judges. There must be at least one year and one day between the first and last CACIB.
CACIB is awarded at International Shows in the Best of Breed class. If the judge finds the quality high enough, a CACIB can be awarded to the highest-placed male and highestplaced female within each breed, provided the dog is registered with FCI-recognized ancestry for at least 3 generations, is over 15 months old, and is entered in either the intermediate class, open class, or champion class. The judge can, if the quality is high enough, award a reserve-CACIB to the second-best dog in each gender. The reserve-CACIB will only be relevant if a CACIB is annulled by FCI (for example, if the dog awarded the CACIB is already an International Champion).
International Junior Champion (CIB-J / INTJCH)
The title requires 3 International Junior Certificates obtained at international shows (i.e., the winner of the junior class, male/female, 9-18 months, with CK) in 3 different countries under 3 different judges.
International Veteran Champion (CIB-V / INTVCH)
The title requires 3 International Veteran Certificates obtained at international shows (i.e., the winner of the veteran class, male/female, from 8 years old, with CK) in 3 different countries under 3 different judges.
