At a rneeting held September 22 in Tac<,tma stockholders of the Wheeler Osgood Companl', Tacoma, Wash., ratifiecl a plan approved by the cotnpany's l;oard of directors to acquire all the outstandirrg capital stock of the Iiir X,Ianrrfactrrring ConrPanv of Nfyrtle Creek, Oregon. This makes available to the corllpally large aclditiclnal stands of virgin timber, a modern plyu'ood plant, and an all-electric sau'mil1.
The Fir Nlanufacturing Company rvill operate as a r'vholly orvned subsidiary of the Wheeler Osgood Company. The combined assets of the tlvo companies r,vill exceed 8 million dollars. It is estimated that the annual sales volume of both operations r,r'ill exceed 15 million dollars.
J. H. Gonyea, president of the Fir N{antrfacturing Co., has been elccted a vice president and director of Wheeler Osgood Company.

G. B. Mcleod on Ecrstern Trip
George B. Mcleod, president, Hammond Lumber Company, returned October 6 from a business and vacation trip to the east. He visited friends in St. John, New Brunsrvick, u'here he lvas born, and paid a visit to his sister in Fredericton, N.B. He was accompanied by Mrs. Mcleod. They spent a feu'days in New York, and Mr. Mcleod had sorne business to clo in Washington, D.C. and Chicago.
