While the market shows some sisns of firmness. Crow's Lumber Price Index declined again in the feriod ending May 31. Standard & Btr. green Douglas fir dimension got some support from strike threats in the Northwest, especially 2xi0, but lower grades showed no hopeful signs. White fir dimension is moving in good volume, common-grade Ponderosa pine boards were softer with seasonal appearance of air-dried stock. and selects and shoo srades were slow at rnost mills.
