Brou'nie started his lumber career <luring high school vacations at I'ris home town of Chehalis, \\rashington, u'orking for various sau'mills and remanufacturing concerns in the northern timber country. After grzrcluation, he secured a job with the Rainier Crossarm Co., producers of rvocicl products for porver and light firms throughout the u'est.
