"Timber Engineers' Handbook," which is a contribution to the field of civil engineering, is a new book by Howard J. Hansen,. Professor of Mechanics, at the University of Florida.

This handbook correlates and presents in one volume, the results of ten years of research and tested application in the use of wood as a structural material. The book contains all the latest information necessary for the design of wood 5f1usfu1s5-including the properties of wood, grading specifications, working stresses, preservatives, fastenings, design formulas and methods. A whole section is devoted to defining standard terms in timber engineering, explaining , common abbreviations, and design examples show how to design a given item step by step.
