Fremont Inks Decking Deal

Fremont Forest Group, Whittier, Ca., has entered an agreement to be the exclusive western distributor for Dura Products' composite decking. Fremont will distribute the decking in Arizona. California. Nevada. Utah. New Mexico, Oregon and Washington from its Long Beach port terminal.

"Our assessment of the composite industry is that we absolutely must be involved in its development and roll out," said Fremont c.o.o. R. Lynn Forsberg. "Dura Products has the technological edge we have been searching for." Dura's decking is made from post-industrial plastics and cellulose fiber.

Fremont Forest Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marubeni Corp.

Arsonist Gets Five Years

A l9-year-old man was sentenced to five years in prison for starting a blaze last year at Cedarbrook Lumber Co.. Cashmere. Wa.

William Jeromy Allenbaugh pleaded guilty to setting the June 12, 2000 fire that destroyed four lumber company buildings, one of which contained apartments that housed four tenants.

Allenbaugh set the fires with a lighter after walking home from a nearby party. He later told police he was angry at his parents for not giving him a ride after the party.

Home Depots Help Sick Baby

Employees at several Southern California Home Depots participated in a car wash fund raiser for an area child stricken with lymphocytic leukemia.

Thirty employees from the San Marcos. Encinitas. Escondido and Oceanside, Ca., Home Depots joined community residents to aid l0-monthold Alexa Estrada of San Marcos.

Encinitas assistant mgr. Victor Moreno noted his store also held a bake sale and barbecue that raised $600. "We plan to keep this up until we run out of ideas, " he said.
