Georgia-Pacific's new McKenzie Trail paneling features a real fir face veneer.

Concrete Brick Design

The effect of handset brick or hexagon or squile tile is possible in a concrete area with the new Brickform Tool Kit from Rafco.

Hardboard Siding

Masonite Corp. has a new lap siding embossed to give the appearance of three 4" laps within a single piece of 12" wide siding.

Available unprimed or prestained in three finishes, 12" wide, 16' long, it has a Vz" shiplap edge for easy installation and lies flat against the sheathing or framing. Nailing is re quired | " above the bottom edge only. Application can be made over any type sheathing or over unsheathed walls.

Oversized Snack Tables

A new oversized snack table set is from R.R. Scheibe Co. Featuring Formica@ tops finished in five patterns, the set includes four foldins hardwood tables and a stand.

Melsuring 16" x 20" x 24" , they have hardwood ribbed frame, brass hinges, and legs made from hand rubbed birch or maple.

Re-roof Insulation Board

A new re-roof insulation board that provides positive venting of water vapor pressure in an old roof is from Johns-Manville.

Available in 24" x 48" units. %" thick. the Fesco@ re-roof board has channels on the underside in a grid pattern and rabetted edges to assure unrestricted vapor pressure relief between the existing roof and the board.

For separating an existing worn out or failed roof from a new roofing system without requiring any tear-off of the original membrane, it can be used over nailable, non-nailable, or metal roof decks using approved hot bitumen and/or mechanical fasteners.

Approved by Underwriters' Laboratories and Factory Mutual, it needs no paper backing or other material that might constitute a fire hazard. It requires no taped joints in its installation. The board can be installed over an existing smooth or gravel surface roof, provided that the old roof is dry and all obstructions that would prevent proper embedment of the board are removed or repaired.

Heat Loss Rating

Under the new Door Insulating Systems Index that combines energy loss through a door and from infiltration. a standard Benchmark entrance door system provides an efficiency rating of 1.5.

Based on test results by an independent laboratory, the 1.5 rating translates as a loss of 1.500 BTU's per day.

In developing the new total insulation rating, the Insulated Steel Door Systems Institute set a maximum rating of 8.6 allowable for door systems.

Tests were made on a standard 3' x 6'8" insulated steel door pre-hung in weather-sealed frame with frostbreak threshold. The ratings have also been calculated for Benchmark's double doors and Vista patio door systems.

The rating was developed to give the trade a single index number that is easy to understand and use for comparison of insulating values. Since the one number is easily converted into a BTU loss per day, this loss can be related to the BTU output of the heating system.

Roll Up Storm Window

Heatcool has a new line of selfstoring inside storm windows to stop hot and cold air infiltration.

Featuring a material that is said to not yellow, crack or peel with the optical clarity of glass, it can roll up like a window shade for ventilation or cleanins the window.

General Products has a new model Benchmark insulated steel entrance door, the Fredericksburg, that reproduces the authentic styling of an old colonial design with a contemporary look.

It has a rigid foam core of high density polyurethane to provide superior insulation. Frames are kerfed at the factory for adjustable magnetic weatherstripping.

Heat on the Move

Solaronics' bottled gas heaters, generating invisible infra-red rays, offer instant heat.

In less than one minute after igniting, the unit reaches full intensity. The nickel-chromium grid and enclosed frame increases the infra-red output and resists flame-outs.

All have polished aluminum reflector, full radiating screen, 1007o safety shutoff valve and thermocouple flame detector, hoses and LP regulators with excess flow POL fitting.

Tempifier Co. has a new air-circulating device that takes hot air from the ceiling and blows it out at floor level creating a convection in the room.

This warms the floors, lowering the ceiling temperature and reducing heat loss through the ceiling.
