To meet the requirements of the Uniform Building Code, treated wood must be identified by the quality mark of an accredited American Lumber Standard Committee inspection agency. [n the West, five agencies are authorized under the ALSC Treated Wood Program to inspect treated wood. However, each agency has its own unique mark and it is located in different positions on the stamp or end-tag making it difficult to find or recognize.

So, how can you tell? Very easily. To find the inspection agency's quality mark, simply look for the CheckMark logo, and it's right therea very simple yay to make sure the treated wood in the project meets code requirements. Whether the mark is on the stamp or the front or back of the tag, now it is easy to find. Just check for it.
