Thc sol'tware vendors also are leceiving better visibility. Instead of being positioned in separatc meeting rooms ol'l' the trading flottr. the nine computer companies now have thcir or,,,n oversized booths (about twicc thc size o1'a rcgular booth)u'ith a bul'l'er space. in a special hall.
The market's success stems. I n part, from its short. no-fiills schedulc and l'ocus on business rathcr thart recrcation. It is held over a wcekend at an affordnble and accessible location. And attendees ltren't executives but rather salespeople and sales rran- agers. tlre ernployees who do the actual trading. Strict rules ensure that the attendance isn't dilr.rted (see attendancc policy at top left).

Bona fide wholesalers. as defined by the NAWLA Bylaws and including Wholesaler-Processors. are invited to attend the Traders Market as nonexhibiting regi strants.
Exhibiting manufacturers, exhibiting wholesaler-processors, exhibiting service providers and exhibiting importers of offshore products may attend.
Primary manufacturers, service providers and importers of offshore products who are not exhibitors, as well as rnanufacturer representatives, retailers, buying cooperatives, builder/contractors and others who do not clearly satisfy the NAWLA Bylaws definition as wholesalers or wholesaler-processors are not eligible to attend.
For more information, call NAWLA, (800) 527-8258 or (847) 8'70-7470.
"ln rny mind. it's the hottest show in thc industry." Marks says. "lts success is indicative of the fact that the industry needed something like this, a pure lumber shor.r. The opportunity for networking you couldn't put a price on it. three days with the suppliers and customers. No way you could do it economically on your own."

The high energy is visible, the excitement audible. Says NAWLA's Kent: "The noise level is unbelievable. It's like being on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange."
With exhibitor participation and attendance rising l-57c to 50olc each year, there seems to be no end in sight. "We could have sold rnore exhibit space, if wc had it," Marks says. "So. I expect the tremendous growth to continue. Unless there's a downturn in the econorny, I don't see anything slowing us down."
