RECENT activity in the retail build-* ing material field has been rather extensive.

High on the list of signifieant changes are those accontplished by Dave Lindsey and Bobert Walls at Kalispell, beginning with a change from Lindsey Lumber & Building Supply to Builders Discount Center.

This operation will soon be housed in new sales ofrces, showroom and warehouse facilities at Kalispe,ll. Also involved in these changes was acquisition of the Jensen Building Centers at Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Eureka, with these locations to be operated under the Builders Discount Center name. Bud Keil will continue as manager of the Whitefish yard, Bob McMillan at Columbia Falls and Jerry Hawley at Eureka. Earlier, in a related action, Brick and Builders Supply at Kalispell had been acquired, with Stan Bruner joining the stafr at Builders Discount Center.

Soon to abandon a long-time location, Boyce Lumber Co., Missoula, will move into new quanters with new office, showroom and warehouse facility now reaching the completion stage. Also moving to new quar"ters in Polson are Willie Dickson and Allen Rogers, operators of Skyline Supply.

The changing scene also includes purchase of the retail building material division of Falls Building and Electric by E. A. "Woody" Erickson at Thompson Falls. The new firm operates as Falls Building Supply.

A hearty welcome is extended to new membets Poulsen's, Inc., Great Falls; Browning Lumber & Hardware Co., Browning; Bond Lumber & Building Service, Havre, and to aasociate member Robert Campbell, American Hardware Mutual Insurance Co.. Great Falls.

McGovern For Multiple Use

Democratic presidential candidate George McGovern has called for "expansion of the cooperative programs that unite private, state, and federal efforts to help nature rebuild the forests of this country."

Candidate McGovern feels the country can accomplish this on the 6O percent of the forest land that is in small holdings by (l) intensified protection of forests from insects and disease; (2) incentives to encourage small for. est landowners to pmtect and improve their lands by providing public funds to develop public benefits from the millions of acres of productive for. ests; (3) improved fire protection.
