CSI treaters conference
LTOT EVEN gale-force winds and I\ El Niflo-driven rain could keep the treaters away from CSI's l3th annual Wood-Preservers' Conference in Palm Springs, Ca.
Held Feb. 14-17 at Marriott's Las Palmas Resort and billed as "Valentines Day in the Heart of the Desert," nearly 100 of CSI's wood treating customers took part in wind-whipped golf, sumo wrestling and an elegant evening at the Empire Polo Grounds.
The highlight was a series of educational workshops on such topics as how attorney-client privilege protects treaters, the harmonization of regulations affecting U.S. and Canadian treaters, and the view of a former EPA inspector. Experts from CSI's Technical, Environmental and Engineering group offered tips ranging from the speed-up of plants to the maintenance of facilities operation manuals.
Said attendee Scott Steinkamp, Southern Indiana Wood Treating: "It was great to get a government perspective on our business, as well as the views of others in the industrv."
