Oregon Treater Adds Borates

Permapost Products Co., Hillsboro. Or.. has introduced a new borate wood preservative that reportedly is environmentally safe and effective against wood destroying insects.

TimberSaver PT is manufactured by Chemical Specialties Inc. and is said to be particularly effective against the Formosan termite.

According to Permapost's David Bond, the company is currently treating 2" green Douglas fir dimension stock and plywood for the Hawaiian market.
