Otho V. "Jack" Batte, president of Jack Batte & Sons, Inc., Forest, Ms., died Oct. 11, 1993, in ForesL - _ A lifelong native of Smith County, Ms., he began as an independent logger in the mid-1940s and started his own mill in 1973.
