Oklahoma Lumbermen's Association convention co-chairmen Don Pannell and Glen Haney are trying to round up as many friends, supporters and old-timers as possible to celebrate next year's special 50th annual convention and buyers' exposition.

Western Wood Products Association. in cooperation with OLA, the Lumbermen's Association of Texas and the Independent Lumber Dealers' Association of Nebraska, has organized a special Northern California tour Sept. 16-22 for retail dealers and their spouses. The week-long trip includes tours of forests, mill operations, nurseries, noted wineries and vineyards, plus a ride on the historic Skunk Train and an authentic lumberiack breakfast.

Lumbermen's Association of Texas, in addition to joining OLA for the Western Wood Products Association West Coast Waves, Wood & Wineries Mill Tour in September, will team with dealers from Florida, the Carolinas, Tennessee and lllinois for a series of dealer roundtables March 22-29, 1996, in Bermuda. Roundtable topics suggested to date include margins/overheads, installed sales, product mixes, security from customer and employee theft, sales that work, and hiring, training and keeping good employees.

Kentucky Lumber & Building Material Dealers Association will join the lllinois Lumber & Material Dealers Association and the Indiana Lumber & Builders' Supply Association at their 3rd annual Tri-State Golf Outing Oct. 5 at the Quail Creek Golf Course, Robinson, Il. The shotgun, scramble format toumey will be followed by drinks and dinner at the Quail Creek Clubhouse. Two years ago, KLBMDA won the tournament but was defeated last year by one stroke.

Also with Illinois Lumber & Material Dealers Association, KLBMDA is cosponsoring a Southem Mill Tour Sept. l7-

S.C.

I.lorida Lumber & Building Material Dealers Association's summer management retreat June 22-24 n Ponte Vedra Beach was a huge success. The board of directors approved revised bylaws as well as Millwork and Truss Division guidelines, formed a new Summer Management Retreat Comminee and received a nominating slate.

Bob Miller, Jerry Srcnski, Dan Waters and Bill Massaro won the Everette Cupit Memorial Golf Tournament June 24 at the TPC Stadium Course at the Marriott Sawgrass.

A dealer roundtable will be held Aug. 2426in tongboat Key.
