Claude A. Hodges, Sr., 91, former treasurer, president and chairman of the board of Hodges Lumber Corp., Roanoke, Va., died Jan. 31.
A graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a World War II veteran, he began working at Hodges Lumber Corp. in 1928. The company ceased operation in 1994.
Mr. Hodges was president of the Virginia Building Material Association in 1965.
John McMurphy, 73, purchasing and sales agent of Austell Forest Products, Reform, Al., died Feb.24 at his home in Fort Walton Beach. Fl.
He served in the Army during World War II and began working at Austell Forest Products in 1988.
John Rudolph Grobmyer, Jr., 82, former chairman of J.R. Grobmyer Lumber Co., Little Rock, Ar., died Feb.7.
He entered business with his father in J.R. Grobmyer Lumber Co. in 1938 and was a past president of the Arkansas Lumber Dealer's Associa- tion, National Lumber Dealer of the Decade, past president of the Southwest Lumber Dealer's Association (now Mid-America Lumbermens Association), and on the board of the National Regional Lumber Dealers Association.
He is succeeded at the comPanY bY his son, Frank Mallory GrobmYer.
John B. Stevens, 88, former general manager of Walton Lumber Co., Mineral. Va.. died Feb.27
He was a licensed Eucharist Minister for 24 years and served as general manager of Walton Lumber for 32 years.
Charles E. Reynolds, 57, manager of Lowe's Building Supplies, Brandon, Fl., died Feb. 8 at his home in Winter Haven, Fl.
An employee of Lowe's for three years, he attended the University of Florida and was the original "Corky the Clown" in the Cypress Garden ski shows.
John Clifford Miller Jr., 90, retired chairman of the board of Miller Manufacturing, Richmond, Va., died Feb. 2l of heart failure at his dairy farm in Spenyville, Va.
A 1928 graduate of Virginia Military Institute, he served as a cap- tain in the Army Air Force in WW II. He became president of Miller Manufacturing in 7952 and was chairman of the board from 1974 to 1979. He was also a former president of the board of visitors at Virsinia Military Institute.
James Franklin Owens, 42, retired 20-year employee, Bibler Lumber Co., Russellville, Ar, died Jan.16.

Johnny Jones has been named sales mgr. for the southeastern U.S. at Truecraft Tools.
Chuck Marzullo was promoted to the newly created position of v.p.-sales & business development for IngersollRand's architectural hardware group. Edward Finley is the new mgr. of tinancial reporting, planning and analysis at Mansfield Plumbing Products.
Susan Levko was promoted to mgr.-brand development at Convenience Products.
