MID-OCTOBER 2017

Celebrating Music Café’s third birthday On September 28th we celebrated Music Café’s 3rd birthday with a party which included games, food and singing. We had a lovely time and in true party spirit there was a lot of noise, a few “disagreements”, some cheating - a fair bit actually - and a lot of laughter. After a “team photo” the cake was cut and distributed to members, most of whom took their piece home because they were already replete with the sandwiches and iced fancies they’d already eaten. It was a most happy couple of hours spent among friends, but that’s what happens whenever we meet – we don’t have to have a party to enjoy fun and fellowship chocolate biscuits are a pretty good substitute for birthday cake. We meet at the Methodist Church on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays of the month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. so if you want to get out for an afternoon of “something different” you are most welcome to give us a try. For more information get in touch with Linda on 01530 242607.

Team effort makes short work of churchyard path!

THANKS TO Hanson and Midland Quarry products, to local company Stardom and a group of local volunteers, work was undertaken to re-lay the path through St Peter’s Church down to Thornton Reservoir. The task was undertaken with much enthusiasm by all and was followed by sausage sarnies and a few pints afterwards at the Bricklayers Arms (courtesy of Everards). Once again, thanks to all.
