Ethan is Leicester City’s lucky mascot LOCAL lad Ethan Mawby had a fantastic day when he was chosen to be Leicester City’s mascot at their match against local rivals Nottingham Forest in February.

He spent time with his sporting heroes, had a kickabout on the hallowed turf, and was there to witness a notable City victory. Ethan, aged 8, said: “I had a really good day! I met all of the players and got their autographs. I had my photo taken with all of my favourite players. I played football on the pitch with Filbert Fox. I ran out onto the pitch with the captain Matt Oakley in front of 31,000 fans and had a kick around. Finally Leicester won 3-0!”

People urged to make sure they are eligible to vote WITH a general election only weeks away, people living in the Bosworth Constituency are being urged to make sure they are eligible to vote. In particular, residents who have recently moved and young people who will be 18 by election day are being encouraged to make sure they appear on the Register of Electors by the electoral registration team at Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council. Registration forms can be downloaded from the council’s website (www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk), obtained from the Electoral Services office by calling 01455 255830/255835 or can be picked up from the council’s main reception in Argents Mead. Electors are also being encouraged to apply early if they wish to vote by post and do not have a postal vote in place at the moment. Forms can be obtained by contacting the Electoral Services office. Anyone who wants to register – or apply for a postal vote – must do so at least 11 working days before the date of the election.
