Troy Fire Protection District Fire Inspector Frank Robinson gets help “Keeping the Wreath Red” from grandchildren, Frankie, 6, and Cheyenne, 4. At each of their fire stations on Seil and Cottage streets, they will display wreaths with red lights on them. If a fire occurs that is a result of holiday decorations, a red bulb is replaced with a white one. Fire officials say be careful with candles, don’t burn wrapping paper or trimmed branches from the tree in the fireplace and check your lights before use to make sure all bulbs are working and be sure the wires aren’t broken or damaged and are UL labeled.

Illiana tollway clears another hurdle with Indiana agency Vote allows the Illinois and Indiana departments of transportation to continue the planning process Public hearings scheduled for January By Nick Reiher Managing Editor
Plans for the Illiana Tollway cleared another hurdle Dec. 12 as an Indiana planning agency approved the project. The Northwestern
Indiana Regional Planning Commission voted to include the Illiana Corridor as a fiscally constrained project in their 2040 Comprehensive Regional Plan. This follows Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning inclusion of this
project into their long range plans last October. This vote allows the Illinois and Indiana departments of transportation to continue the planning process and also pursue a public-private partnership concessionaire to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the proposed highway facility. The plan for the 47-mile Illiana has been on the fast track for more than two years. The estimated $1.5 billion project,
