Hock: A lot going on downtown Plans include the multi-phased multimodal project that officials say will redefine the city as a transportation hub BY KRIS STADALSKY for THe SeNTINeL

Whether you’ve seen the old classic “Phantom of the Opera” in original black and white, full color on stage – or at all -- Feb. 1 will be the next opportunity to be a part of the fantasy. “Phantom of the Opera” is this year’s theme for the annual Shorewood H.U.G.S. (Helping You Get Started) Chocolate Ball, which benefits the organization’s Hugs and Wishes program. The event has been moved from the Shorewood Village Hall, its location for the last four years, to the Holiday Inn on South Larkin Avenue in Joliet.
