Plans for Metra station progress; construction slated for 2016 Commuters looking for an easier ride are one step closer with Romeoville’s long-range plan to build a Metra station moving forward. For years, the village has been working in conjunction with CN Railroad and Metra to develop a plan for a new station along New Avenue, just off of 135th Street. The village is now entering into the second phase of the project and an intergovernmental agreement, awarding $550,000 to the Illinois Department of Transportation for preliminary engineering.
