Will County Prosecutor John Connor will take over as State Representative of the 85th District, serving residents of Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Lockport, Romeoville and Woodridge. Connor was recently selected by Democratic leaders to fill the remaining year and half left of Emily McAsey’s term. She recently resigned, announcing she would be moving out of state. According to information from the Will County Democratic Party,after deliberating between four candidates, leaders chose Connor, Saturday to fill the seat. As a Will County assistant state’s attorney, Connor, has been involved in the high-profile cases of Drew Peterson and Christopher Vaughn. Connor, a Lockport resident, reportedly said he is excited for the opportunity and will hit the ground running as he is headed to Springfield for the special session calling on legislators to approve a state budget by the June 30 deadline.
