The White Oak Library in conjunction with its 2017 Great Read community literacy partners have been celebrating the 20th anniversary of the publication of the first Harry Potter book with a month of special events, including art, costume and trivia contests, and a Potter-themed family magic show. Don’t miss out on the final events. Come visit the four houses of Hogwarts at the White Oak Library Crest Hill Branch where various programs for Harry Potter fans await including: Harry Potter Yoga at 11 a.m. Feb. 25; Join for a fun, magical hour of Harry Potter-inspired yoga. We will focus on improving concentration, balance, and flexibility as we cast spells and perform yoga poses from the Harry Potter world. This program is for ages 12 and up. Finale is from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Fountaindale Public Library, 300 W. Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook. This is a free program and registration is not required. The Grand Finale will feature a special Harry Potter-themed family magic show. A display of artwork of the local winners will be on display, and the grand prizes for the 2017 Great Read Art Contest will be awarded. Refreshments and book
giveaways will be available as long as supplies last. The Great Read is proudly presented by the Fountaindale Public Library District; Joliet Junior College; Joliet Public Library; Lemont Public Library District; Plainfield Public Library District; Plainfield School District 202; Shorewood-Troy Public Library District; and the White Oak Library District.
