Tis the season for giving and the Romeoville community was set to help spread a little joy. For the fifth year, the Fraternal Order of Police coordinated efforts to help families in need do some holiday shopping. Officer John Allen, who spearheaded the event, reported the annual Shop with a Cop event at Walmart, was able to take 43 children out for a shopping spree. Through donations from the Fraternal Order of Police, Romeoville Emergency Management Agency, Citizens Police Academy and local business owners, the police department was able to make Christmas a little brighter by adding a few presents under the tree.
