Police Department purchasing a new crime scene/trafďŹ c accident investigation vehicle The Romeoville Police Department is purchasing a new crime scene/traffic accident investigation vehicle using drug forfeiture funds. The Romeoville Village Board recently waived bids for a new vehicle, allowing the police department to purchase a Ford
Transit vehicle, from LDV, the sole supplier of a such a vehicle, based in Wisconsin. Romeoville Police Chief Mark Turvey said the van will be outfitted and used to respond to major crime and accident scenes, having all equipment inside vehicle to quickly respond to major incidents. The department will use drug-forfeited funds to buy the vehicle not exceed $175,000. The van, a mobile command center, will be equipped with workstations, computers, cellular antenna, gun cabinet, and cameras.
