A 71-year-old man allegedly responsible for a one-man vendetta against a condominium complex’s owners appeared in court today, nearly a full year after he was originally charged. Norman Kazmierski, 71, of Niles is allegedly responsible for causing over $300 worth of damage each to three cars parked in a lot belonging to a condo at 7021 W.Touhy Ave. Four victims alerted Niles police to video from a surveillance camera that reportedly showed Kazmierski damaging a 2006 Honda, a 2004 Buick, a 2007 Honda and a 2004 Cadillac on Jan. 6. Kazmierski later turned himself into Niles police Jan. 29 and at that time was charged with four counts of Criminal Damage to Property. Since then, his court hearing has been moved eight times to a later date. In the interim, the condo association for the complex sent a letter to the Assistant State’s Attorney that further alleges that Kazmierski was involved in a “thoughtful plan to cause extensive damage against multiple unit owners of our building.” See CONDO, page 3
