Area Blackhawk fans celebrate Stanley Cup win BY IGOR STUDENKOV FOR THE BUGLE esidents from Park Ridge, Niles and Morton Grove joined countless other Blackhawks fans in downtown Chicago to celebrate the team’s championship win. Despite the festive atmosphere, the day didn’t start off smoothly. By 7:45 a.m., a light drizzle escalated to a downpour, sending men, women and children wearing Blackhawks jerseys inside the Uptown Metra station building in Park Ridge. Still, the mood remained optimistic. Bart Smith of Park Ridge said he was still looking forward to the celebration, despite the weather. “I feel very excited,” he said. “It’s going to be a very great day. It’s going to be a very fun day.” When asked if the rain gave him any pause, Smith replied with a simple “no.” “I brought my umbrella,” he added.
