Not only is the dramatic two-story window gone from the Shorewood-Troy Public Library, but its scenic forest view is still covered with unsightly plywood and plastic tarps, and construction is going nowhere. At least for now. The problem, library board members say, is a gross lack of responsiveness by their contractor, Continental Construction of Evanston. The building committee met Thursday night with architect Nick Graal of Tria Architecture. “We have been experiencing delays in the construction despite multiple calls,” Graal told board members. “The contractor has not been responsible for completing the project.” The project kicked off August 25 with the demolition of the old wall and erection of a temporary one.
