Louis Joliet Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recognizes Vietnam veterans
bY RYan TaCKITT | FOR THE BUGLE he Louis Joliet Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution held a special event earlier this month to recognize veterans of the vietnam War. The event, held at the American Legion in Lockport, served as a way to honor the local soldiers from one of history’s most controversial wars. Bobbi Borbas, head of the chapter, helped put together the event to honor those often forgotten soldiers. “I think it’s very important to keep this in the public’s mind,” Borbas said. “We have two or three generations, at this point, that don’t really understand what the vietnam War was, or how it affected people.” pHoToS By RyAN TACkITT | FoR THE BuGLE
