Putting food on the table isn’t always easy for some families. Hoping to raise awareness of just how many families in Illinois struggle with hunger, the Northern Illinois Food Bank is once again sponsoring Hunger Action Month this September. “We strive to make sure that none of our neighbors are hungry,” said Teresa Schryver, communications specialist with the Northern Illinois Food Bank. “I always say, if you don’t know that there’s a problem, you don’t know how to even begin to fix it.” Plainfield Mayor Michael Collins signed off on a proclamation last month that shows the village’s support of Hunger Action Month. Plainfield will participate in the national “Go Orange Day” to support hunger relief efforts Sept. 8. “The Northern Illinois Food Bank provides meals to over 71,500 people each week through a network of food pantries, soup kitchens,
