Do you know what your kids are looking at online? Members of the FBI visited eighth graders and their parents in Plainfield School District 202 to discuss the importance of monitoring children’s activities online.
Members of the FBI said that parents need to know the passwords to their children’s devices and set parental controls on social media apps.
Members of the Plainfield Village Board got together for a special meeting Sept. 12 in order to take a peek at the village’s strategic plan. While the strategic plan stretches over a fiveyear period, the plan also includes specific goals for each year. The most recent plan, which runs through 2021, was first created after public meetings in the summer of 2015. The goals and objectives discussed this month were specific items that the village hopes to complete by the end of the current fiscal year. Updates to the plan include: Transportation Alternatives – In an effort to create passageways for pedestrian and bike traffic and close pathway gaps throughout Plainfield, the village has set a goal to install new pathways along 248th Street, 127th Street and Route 30. Reconstruction of 127th Street – The reconstruction of this section of road will include an update of rural cross section with deep ditches for drainage and an outdated storm sewer structure. In July, the Illinois Department of Transportation facilitated a bid opening for the
