The Plainfield Village Board heard a presentation about the Vista Pointe concept plan at its June 13 committee of the whole workshop. Vista Pointe is located near Ridge and Walker Roads on property that was annexed by the village in 2005. Village Planner Jonathan Proulx said the project has been before the board in the past, and a preliminary plat was approved in 2008. When the recession hit that same year, the project was put on hold. Mike Schoppe, of Schoppe Design Associates, spoke to the board about the changes the property owners would like to present. The original plan had a school and park site, but Schoppe said the school district has since decided to take money for the 40-acre school site. “That puts 40 acres back in the project to do something with,” Schoppe said. The new concept plan calls for two 5to 7-acre parks: one north of Walker Road and one south of Walker. There are three total parks in the planned neighborhood,
