The village of Plainfield will add eight new vehicles to its fleet of police and public works cars and trucks, following approval this week by the full village board of more than $313,000 to buy those automobiles. The board approved purchase request from the Police Department for two, 2017 Ford Utility Police Interceptors, which will be utilized in the Patrol Division as supervisor vehicles. The board also approved a request for a 2017 Ford Escape to be used in the Patrol Division for community service officers during normal assignments. Additionally, the board approved two more 2017 Ford Explorer purchase request, one to be utilized by the administration division, the other to be utilized by the community services division.
