At the June 6 village board meeting, Plainfield Chief of Police John Konopek recognized several officers for their hard work. Police Sgt. Mike Fisher was named 2015 Supervisor of the Year and Vanessa Hutchins was named 2015 Civilian of the Year at the police awards ceremony last month. Fisher has been with the Plainfield Police Department for 22 years, and has had several responsibilities in the department. He has received several awards, including a life-saving award in 2005. He serves now as the day shift patrol sergeant. Hutchins served as a part-time court technician, before being promoted to executive assistant for the community service division. Additionally, officer Michael Doornbosch, officer Luke Ostreko and Sgt. Jeremiah Zigterman were awarded 2015 Life Saving awards. Doornbosch responded to an unresponsive subject who had possibly overdosed in
