Things are chugging along as the village works on its quiet zone application for railroad crossings. Director of Public Works Allen Persons gave an update on the process during the Monday, May 8 Committee of the Whole meeting. “We have made it through the 60-day comment period that’s required by law without any negative comments, so that’s a good milestone to cross,” Persons said. “Now the application moves on to the Federal Railway Administration, the FRA, and they have three months to review the application.
