Two new Plainfield police officers were sworn in at the April 4 village board meeting. Police Chief John Konopek presented officers Marissa Schultz and Zachary Bayless with their badges and told them to, “wear them with honor.” Konopek said both officers started performing administrative duties the previous week and started at the police academy in Springfield this week and will graduate in June.

Village schedules May 4 community strategic planning meeting Plainfield Mayor Mike Collins and the village’s board of trustees will host a strategic planning meeting May 4. The village said an evening of visioning and strategic planning will take place from 7-9 p.m. at Plainfield Central High School, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive. The purpose of the meeting, according to the village, is gather community input as it begins the process of updating its current strategic plan, which was adopted in 2013.
