Write-in candidate seeks support No challenge for park commissioner candidates BY MARNEY SIMON Enterprise Staff @plainfieldnews sweditor@enterprisepublications.com

The Plainfield Park District has some big projects on the horizon, including the addition of a new recreation center at Bott Park. The center is currently in the design stage, and will be the signature project for the district in the next two years. The Park District has three open commissioner seats, with three candidates in the running: Ridgley Ann ‘Mimi’ Poling, Heather Kazmark, and Robert D. Ayres. The Park District also has an open seat for one unexpired 2-year term. While no one filed the paperwork to be on the ballot for that seat, district resident Bill Thoman is the sole official write-in candidate for the spot. “I believe when people vote, people benefit from that,” Thoman said. “I wanted to state my commitment publicly, that when SEE SUPPORT PAGE 5
