Plainfield museum to reopen Feb. 27 with new exhibits News displays mark significant milestones in village’s history The Plainfield Historical Society Museum will showcase its newest exhibits Feb. 27, and those displays will help commemorate several important anniversaries in the village’s history. The museum will reopen from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. At the entrance, visitors will find an exhibit celebrating the 100th anniversary of the little red brick bungalow, where the current historical collection is housed. Additionally, the historical society is partnering with the Plainfield Park District to focus on its 50th anniversary. A number of significant artifacts will be on display that will tell their story of serving the Plainfield community and the growth they have experienced through the years. The military exhibit will focus on the Civil War and some of the Plainfield residents who participated. Several who have contributed to this display with photos and artifacts are the Countryman and Keene families, who still reside here. The museum will also celebrate 32 years of the Prairie Quilters. Although somewhat diminished as an everyday item in today’s
