A handful of local roads will get some needed repairs before winter. On Oct. 1, the village board approved the final projects as part of the 2018 summer patching program. The village will pay Briggs Paving of Downers Grove $105,300 for the patching work, which includes asphalt pavement patches at various locations throughout the village, as determined by public works staff. “The village has budgeted money for pavement patching throughout the community to help maintain our roadway network,” said Director of Public Works Allen Persons. The bid fell below the engineer’s estimated cost of $129,600. The project is funded through the public works capital projects fund. The board also approved items within the pavement sealing program for designated road maintenance issues. The board awarded a contract to SKC Construction of West Dundee in the amount of $152,950 for work on the 2018-2019 pavement crack filling program. That bid also fell below the engineer’s estimate of $195,500. SEE WORKS PAGE 15
