The parishioners at St. Mary Immaculate will finally get their new sign. But before that approval came, village officials took the opportunity to explain why they have reservations about the variance that will allow the new electronic message board to sit in front of the popular Catholic church. The proposal will allow the parish to build a sign 16-feet in height by 12-feet in length, with a proposed 60-square foot area for the electronic sign. That exceeds village code of 48-square feet, and thus the need for the variance. But Trustee Bill Lamb saw a bigger issue, suggesting that allowing such a large variance could be unfair to other businesses and organizations that have adhered to the code. “We spent more than two years rewriting the entire codes,” Lamb said. “There was a lot of thought that went into the sign portion… Signs are a very visible part of the town, and we wanted it to fit
