Police getting new wheels
Vehicle replacing one totaled in a wreck BY MARNEY SIMON Enterprise Staff @plainfieldnews sweditor@enterprisepublications.com
The Plainfield Police Department will get a new sports utility vehicle, following a wreck that left one fleet vehicle no longer usable. “We unfortunately had a crash in the police department that resulted in a vehicle being totaled,” Chief John Konopek told members of the village board on Jan. 8. “We did receive insurance money back in the amount of $7,415, which would go into the vehicle replacement fund. That’s also where we would seek to take that money out of, to replace that vehicle that was totaled.” The chief said the department received three bids on the replacement vehicle, a Ford Explorer. The department opted to accept a bid from Rod Baker Ford of Plainfield, in the amount of $26,473. SEE POLICE PAGE 3
