Police nab 4 for driving impaired Crackdown part of ‘Drive Sober’ campaign The Plainfield Police Department said it made four drunk-during arrests during the recent Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over holiday enforcement campaign. From Dec. 18 to Jan. 3, Plainfield police conducted extra saturation patrols and seatbelt enforcement zones. The increased enforcement efforts took place during both daytime and nighttime hours. Officers arrested four people for driving while impaired and issued 18 seatbelt citations during the campaign. What should be a merry and joyful time of year gets overshadowed by drunk driving, time and time again,” traffic Sgt. Eric Munson said in a release. “Drunk driving is a reckless, 100 percent preventable crime, and one that leads to disaster. “By removing four drunk drivers from local roads, there’s no telling how many lives were saved,” Munson added. The local effort was part of a nationwide campaign in partnership with the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois State Police and law enforcement agencies across Illinois. It was also part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
