Suspect in armed robbery apprehended

Downers Grove Police Chief Robert A. Porter announced Monday that a suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a recent armed robbery. Carlo M. Castelo, 27, 4008 Park St., Westmont, was arrested Monday for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery at the Sally Beauty Supply store, 46 Ogden Ave., police said. At approximately 6:25 p.m., Feb. 11, Downers Grove Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Sally Beauty Supply store. The employee gave him money from the register and the man then ran from the store. Police were able to develop information and use physical evidence, which led to the eventual arrest of Castelo. The DuPage County States Attorney approved a charge of armed robbery for the offender. Castelo is being held in the Du Page County Jail with bail set at $300,000.
