hether it’s the soulful sounds of legendary bands, the pounding rhythm of classic rock or the live dramatic performances, the Bolingbrook Performing Arts Center stage is set to offer it all—and has been doing so for years. Unrivalled to none, Dale McClannahan said the village strives to maintain the PAC, installing new equipment, tweaking existing pieces, and always on the lookout for the next best thing, the styling’s of the PAC remains the elite of any stage in the area. The PAC, owned and operated by the village, was built in 1998 and has gone through several transformations over the years in terms of stage lighting, effects and audio.

Record winds, some up to 82 mph, wreaked havoc throughout the area, uprooting trees, downing power lines and knocking out power to thousands Monday. Neighbors helping neighbors, grabbing flashlights and brooms in the night to remove tree limbs from their front windows, off their cars and in out of harm’s way. For others, there was no muscling trees out of their way, years old trees uprooted completely strewn across lawns. Power lines turned dangerous with live wires still igniting the day after. Street lights were down and some roads cut off. Commonwealth Edison reported more than 5,600 homes in Romeoville and 2,200 still without power Tuesday afternoon with no estimated report for its return. Crews cruise the neighborhoods clearing debris while residents take to the streets, some to play, some to catch a breeze— electronics free.
