Community recalls village employee’s artistic passion Dale McClannahan died suddenly Oct. 26 By laura katauskas bugle staff

sweditor@buglenewspapers.com @BugleNewspapers

Whether behind the stage, behind the camera or behind the mic, everyone in Bolingbrook knew Dale McClannahan was behind the community. McClannahan, 59, passed away suddenly Oct. 26. With an outpouring of love and support for the McClannahan family, the Bolingbrook community is mourning the loss of a man many say had an unrivaled passion for the Performing Arts Center and

commitment to Bolingbrook, where he worked for the past 12 years as facilities coordinator. “In the midst of grief and with heavy hearts, tonight we mourn the loss of our colleague and friend, ‘the Man Behind the Stage,’ Dale McClannahan. Dale will forever be remembered for his passion of live entertainment and dedication to the Bolingbrook community and the Performing Arts Center,” a message posted on the Bolingbrook Performing Arts Center Facebook page read. McClannahan’s priority had been to bring the Bolingbrook Performing Arts Center into the 21st Century, lobbying for new equipment and state-of-the-art technology to wow audiences.

“Dale loved his work and served the Bolingbrook community tirelessly.”

- Donna Scherner Former Colleague

“Dale loved his work and served the Bolingbrook community tirelessly,” said Donna Scherner, friend and former colleague of McClannahan. “Because of Dale’s vision passion for music and tenacity for perfection the

Performing Arts Center has become one of the regions most valued treasures.” Even if you did not know McClannahan personally, chances are you knew of him. If he wasn’t organizing talent for the performing arts center, he was out capturing memories with video and photos at nearly every community event. “He facilitated countless nonprofit events and always kept a smile on, even when chaos presented itself,” said Michael Carapanzano, former director of the Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce. “He was the backbone to every concert.” Carapanzano added that McClannahan had a passion for wowing audiences and worked to create an “atmosphere of

greatness” in Bolingbrook. “The best lights, speakers, lasers and fog machines to make the community feel like they were living in the music and/or theater production,” Carapanzano said. “His success lied with the smiles on the faces of the residents.” McClannahan was not only wellrespected among his colleagues. Countless Facebook posts from friends describe McClannahan simply as a caring person “anyone would want to meet.” Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 30 at BolingbrookMcCauley Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 530 Boughton Road. An evening funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 30 immediately following visitation.

Shortchanged —

The Federal Spending Imbalance By Laura Katauskas bugle staff

sweditor@buglenewspapers.com @BugleNewspapers

In a bipartisan effort, local legislators are coming together to force a closer look at the path that federal dollars take in funding local initiatives, calling attention to what they called Illinois’ “payer state problem.” Congressman Bill Foster delivered a keynote address early last week on the issue at an event hosted by State Rep. Natalie Manley at Romeoville Village Hall. “If there is one thing I could do to fix what is happening in Illinois, this would be it,” said Foster. He explained that every year, tens of billions of dollars leave Illinois in the form of federal taxes, yet the state receives only a fraction of those resources in federal spending. Foster continued that the state, in essence, could solve its budget crisis if this issue was solved. Foster breaks it down by explaining that some states that are considered payer states and others are taker states. The taker states are mainly those that are smaller in size, benefiting from funding formulas that disperse money in lump sums rather than calculating need based on population. For example, small states will always benefit in receiving federal disaster funds. The formula dictates that if the damage exceeds $1.32 per person, the state is declared a disaster. “Why? If the exact same thing happens in a bigger state, the bigger state would not be declared a disaster. It makes no sense. If it happened in Iowa, they would get funding. If the same exact thing happened in Illinois, we would not. This is just insane.” (WHO SAID? FOSTER?) Foster explained the reality of the situation, the same storm hit New York and Vermont. New York received zero in federal funding, while Vermont received $1.8 million. Illinois has ranked in the bottom three states in the amount of

federal spending since the 1980s. According to Foster, Illinois residents pay $1,468 more in taxes than the U.S. average—totally $19 billion extra in state taxes. Spending aside, Foster said the problem doesn’t end there, but continues in where federal money is steered, be it construction, military, or public assistance. “But these funds don’t come equally—we are getting rooked there too,” said Foster. He estimates that Illinois residents receive $1,800 less than the U.S. average in federal spending per person, totaling nearly $24 billion per year. According to those totals, in 2013, approximately $43 billion flowed out of Illinois, said Foster. What could you do with a $20 billion a year? Foster equates it to 100 high-speed road bridges, 200 elevated parks or an awesome amount of infrastructure. In federal highway funding, Illinois is again ranked at the bottom; receiving $89.62 per person, per year. In comparison, Montana receives $353.65 and Alaska receives $609.20. “It’s a death by a thousand cuts as money is continually steered out of Illinois,” said Foster. “Funding levels need to be funded per person, not per state….We have to stop subsidizing our smaller states.” “If we were not a payer state and even if we eliminate income tax, we would break even and we wouldn’t be in this budget crisis,”

said Foster. “There was a time when we could afford this. That time has passed.” At the federal level, Foster has introduced the Payer State Transparency Act and formed the bipartisan Payer State Caucus to study this problem and identify possible solutions. Foster introduced the Payer State Transparency Act to study the root causes of this problem and look for solutions. The legislation would develop a comprehensive accounting of each state’s net flow of federal funds, ensuring more transparency in where and how taxpayer dollars are being spent. “This is no silver bullet because this is a problem that has been building for decades but we can start the conversation and get the ball rolling to get this problem fixed,” said Foster. In Illinois, Manley introduced House Resolution 209, which urges Congress to pass Foster’s bill. House Resolution 209 passed the Illinois House of Representatives unanimously May 30. Following the event on Oct. 20, State Sen. Pat McGuire introduced Senate Resolution 1102, urging to pass Foster’s Payer State

Transparency Act. “Washington’s method of apportioning federal funds to states, like Illinois’ tax structure, belongs in a museum,” McGuire said. “I’m gathering support in the Illinois Senate for Rep. Bill Foster’s thoughtful, bipartisan push to modernize the process and get Illinois its fair share.” Foster applauded the moves of both Manley and McGuire and said the problem cannot begin to be fixed without authenticated accounting, state-level support and public awareness. The event also featured presentations from social service

organizations and local legislators on the effects of the payer state problem and the underinvestment in community services caused by a lack of resources. “Illinois budget issues are complicated and includes the fact that at the federal level, Illinois taxpayer dollars are being redistributed to other states,” Manley said. “…While Illinois taxpayers see their services slashed, vital programs cut, and roads crumble around them, those states around us that are the recipients of our federal tax dollars are bragging about their balanced budgets.”

Exercise simulates early immigration system Their names were changed. They were yelled at. They were victims of discrimination. They were separated from their families. They were tossed in a detention center for no reason. Dozens of Bolingbrook High School juniors learned what it was like to immigrate to the United States through Ellis Island in the late 1890s and early 1900s thanks to an immigration simulation exercise Friday. “We want them to really

understand the difficulty the immigrants had coming into this country,” said BHS United States history teacher Ken Kulawiak. “Sometimes they would stand in line for five or six hours. Sometimes it would be the next day. They were detained. They were separated.” Kulawiak and his team set up various stations similar to what it would have been like at Ellis Island. Students had to go through an application check, a citizenship

test, a medical exam and a literacy test before they received final clearance to enter the United States. Many of them were sent to a temporary detention center. Before simulation day, students spent several days learning about immigration procedures in their U.S. history classes. After filling out “checkout slips” describing how they felt about the process, they took a virtual tour of the real Ellis Island and took part in discussions about today’s immigration issues.

“She became a victim of domestic violence; a thing she taught us all about.” Those words came from Shaye Soto, a 2015 graduate of Plainfield North High School and former student of Susan Triplett-Cunningham, who was tragically murdered Oct. 20 in what police have called a “domestic-related homicide.” Soto spoke during a candlelight vigil held at the school in memory of her former teacher. And while the details of her teacher’s death are not yet official, the incident underscores a sobering truth: domestic violence is closer to all of us than we’d like to admit and its victims are often discouraged from seeking help. Police suspect that Cunningham’s husband fatally stabbed his wife before walking into traffic and taking his own life. This tragedy is all too real for the friends and family of the victim, yet its timing and impact provide an opportunity for all people to reflect on a problem that is all too common throughout our society. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The month is a time when people across the country unite to remember and empower victims, while raising awareness of the effects domestic violence has on families

across the country. Officially, the month is centered around three themes: mourning those who have died, celebrating those who have survived and connecting those who are working to end domestic violence. “During National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we reaffirm our dedication to forging an America where no one suffers the hurt and hardship that domestic violence causes -- and we recommit to doing everything in our power to uphold the basic human right to be free from violence and abuse,” President Obama said Sept. 30 in a proclamationcommemoratingNational Domestic Violence Awareness. In 1994, congress passed the Violence Against Women Act, symbolizing that dedication and bringing to light the pervasiveness of domestic violence in America. The act also set aside funds for the investigation and prosecution of violent crimes against women and allowed for civil redress in cases that go unprosecuted. But sadly, the act has neither eradicated domestic violence from our culture nor convinced some that it is even a serious problem – as demonstrated by the political fight over reauthorizing the VAWA in 2013 because of its inclusion of American Indians, illegal immigrants, and gays and lesbians. Domestic violence and abuse affect all types of people and comes in many forms: verbal, emotional, psychological,

sexual and physical. According to statistics from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 1 in 3 women have been victims of physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetimes, and 1 in 5 women have been victims of severe physical violence by an intimate partner at some point in their life. Men can also be victims, with 1 in 4 suffering physical violence and 1 in 7 suffering severe physical violence by an intimate partner. Additionally, 72 percent of all murdersuicides involve an intimate partner and 94 percent of those victims are female. Despite these tragic statistics, our society has chosen to turn its head and ignore this troubling and inconvenient truth. We do this by still praising athletes who have been convicted of rape or spousal abuse or by choosing to forget their crimes, as long as they continue to perform at a high level. We do this by ignoring signs of abuse at work or in other public settings, telling ourselves that it’s a “personal” matter and failing to listen to victim’s cries for help. We do this by perpetuating a culture of patriarchy that teaches suppression and subjugation of qualities deemed “feminine,” soliciting from some a violent reaction when the realities of the 21st century clash with social “norms” that have been reinforced from a young age. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, but domestic violence knows no boundaries. I choose to confront this ever-present problem by being aware of its existence. Will you?

CHAMPS Raiders claim first regional boys soccer championship in 23 years

By Mark Gregory sports reporter

mark@buglenewspapers.com @Hear_The_Beard

While the Bolingbrook football team was on the road Friday night stunning HomewoodFlossmoor, the Raider soccer team was at home making some noise of its own. Bolingbrook defeated Metea Valley 1-0 to claim the Bolingbrook Regional title for the first time in 23 years. “I was a senior in high school the last time this happened,” Bolingbrook coach Jamie Clemmons said. “I told them that I wanted them to be the ones that made history. I told them that they would have a memory – either good or bad – so leave it all on the field.” It is the second-straight year Bolingbrook has advanced to the regional final – falling last year to Naperville North. “This was our year,” Clemmons said. “We talked about it all year and we came back hungry after that defeat last year and we wanted to beat a team like this. “I have been working on this for 11 years. We had four wins my first year and the last two years we are 35-9-6. That is the best two years in school history. We broke the school record for wins with 18. The third time is a charm for me. It was ’06 against Sandburg then last year with Naperville North.” Bolingbrook got a goal from

Erick Gonzalez just minutes into the second half for the clincher and the defense took it from there. “Coach told us to play the corners because the middle wasn’t working,” Gonzalez. “We put a ball up top, got a rebound off the box and I saw a little window and I hit it, I didn’t think about it at all.” Clemmons knew the defense would step up. “This is our 16th shutout in 25 games. I knew if it was close our defense would be a difference,” he said. “I felt like we had a good match up. I thought we were pretty much the same teams with a couple deadly players and a good defense. I thought it would come down to who made the first mistake or who got that first good strike on goal.” For Gonzalez and the rest of the seniors who lost last season, it was a huge win. “Being a senior, this feels great. Last year we made it to the regional final and we got smacked by Naperville North,” he said. “Playing at home was great. We got to win the first regional title in 23 years here and break the school record for wins – It felt great.” The Raiders opened the Metea Valley Sectional with a rematch of last season’s regional final game with Naperville North. A win would have them in the sectional final against the winner of Naperville Central and Batavia.

Spartans rally for regional opener win By Mark Gregory sports reporter

mark@buglenewspapers.com @Hear_The_Beard

When the playoffs come around, all teams are playing for their lives, knowing that a loss means the end of the season for all and the end of a career for the seniors. For Lincoln-Way North, a loss in the regional semifinal against Romeoville – it meant more. With Lincoln-Way District 210 voting earlier this season to close North at the end of the season, the Phoenix were playing not only for their season, but for the program’s

existence. And, while Romeoville earned the 3-2 overtime win – North played like a team possessed, especially with its back against the wall. “We thought they would come a little more fired up, and they did,” said Romeoville senior Christian Duarte. “This is their last time as a school. We took that energy and we converted it into our own. We took every ball and tried to go 110 percent, because we knew they would be going 100 percent.” The teams played a scoreless first half and then Duarte broke through

mid way through the second half with a goal to put the Spartans on top. Another goal for Romeoville by Pat Bednarz gave what seemed to be a solid lead, but the Phoenix would not see the program die that easy. Two goals in the final seven minutes, 12 seconds of the game knotted it up and sent the game into overtime. “With eight minutes to go, we were about to sub some players in, mix things up and boom, we give up a goal, then, boom, another one,” said Romeoville

coach Nick Cirrincione. “Then we were in a battle.” Duarte felt the team lost focus in the final stretch. “We did fall a bit in effort that last eight minutes, but we knew we had this game, so we fought hard in the first half of overtime and things went well,” he said. “We got the shot, we got the goal and then we played more defensively.” Duarte assisted on the game winner. “We haven’t won here since our run three years ago, so it is nice to win a regional game again,” Cirrincione said. “We bounced back and scored in overtime. It was exciting.” In the regional final – the last boys soccer game scheduled on the Lincoln-Way North field ever – the Spartans fell 1-0 to BradleyBourbonnais in penalty kicks.

The teams battled through regulation and overtime scoreless and Bradley-Bourbonnais outkicked Romeoville 5-3 in the deciding PK battle. Also last week, it was announced that Duarte is again an all-state selection by the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches’ Association. It is the second straight year he has received this honor. “It was a huge honor once again and I couldn’t believe it,” Duarte said. “I didn’t let that get in my head while I was playing.” His coach believes the honor cements Duarte’s legacy as the best ever in Spartan boys soccer lore. “Duarte is officially Romeoville’s best boys soccer player ever,” Cirrincione said. “He is the first two-time All-State player ever from the school.”

Raiders advance to playoffs with huge win at H-F By Mark Gregory sports reporter

mark@buglenewspapers.com @Hear_The_Beard

CLASS 8A In the state’s largest class, the IHSA has gone away from the geographic pairings and are a true 1-32 seeded bracket this season. There are three undefeated teams in 8A, led by No. 1 overall seed Loyola. Second seed Huntley and No. 3 Edwardsville are the other 9-0 teams. Records aside, No. 8 HomewoodFlossmoor still remains the team to beat in Class 8A. A loss on a field goal at the end of regulation dropped the state’s top-ranked team to 8-1. The Vikings would get a chance to prove they are still the best in a potential quarterfinal tilt with Loyola.

BOLINGBROOK Record: 5-4 Consecutive appearances: 24 Week 1: No. 8 Bolingbrook at No. 6 Naperville Central – 7pm Friday, Oct. 30 Outlook: The Raiders needed that field goal to not only defeat H-F, but to get into the playoffs for the 24th time, the second longest streak in Class 8A. The Bolingbrook defense is the key of its team, paced by Ohio State recruit Tuf Borland. The Raider offense, which opened the season with only one returning starter, has made strides throughout the season. The opening round match-up puts two of only seven teams in the bracket that have won state titles against each other as the Raiders travel to Naperville Central. The Redhawks come in 8-1 on the season and also have a potent defense, allowing only 10.4 points per game this season while winning the DuPage Valley Conference title outright for the first time in 14 years. Central is led by quarterback Conor Joyce.

MINOOKA Record: 5-4 Consecutive appearances: 1 Week 1: No. 31 Minooka at No. 2 Huntley - 1pm, Saturday, Oct. 31 Outlook: The Indians needed a win over Plainfield North in the final game of the season just to earn its fifth win and be playoff eligible. It is Minooka’s first time in the playoffs since 2011. The Indians also have to send a card to Lockport for its win over Joliet West in week 9. The Porter win gave Minooka

that much-needed one more point and eliminated Joliet West, another potential 5-4 qualifier. Minooka is tied with West Aurora and Clinton with 35 playoff points (total number of wins by your opponents), the lowest of all qualifiers in any class. The 13 wins by teams defeated is the most of the 35 point teams. The Indians draw No. 2 seed Huntley in the opening week. Huntley has the fourth-largest point differential in Class 8A, scoring 41.3 points per game and allowing only 14.6, a differential of 26.8. Minooka has a differential of only 2.7 points, scoring 24.7, while allowing 22.0. Huntley is going for a schoolrecord 10 wins, after going undefeated for the first time this year. The Chargers are led by quarterback Anthony Binetti and running back Eric Mooney. They will have to deal with Blake Parzych and the Minooka defense. On offense, quarterback John Carnagio captains the Indians, while Jaccor Blakney is the main ground attack.

NOTRE DAME Record: 8-1 Consecutive appearances: 1 Week 1: No. 23 Marist at No. 10 Notre Dame – 7pm, Friday, Oct. 30 It is not often a team gets a chance to avenge a loss in IHSA football, let alone avenging your only loss of the year, but that is what Notre Dame has the chance to do. The Dons’ only loss of the season was a 49-42 shootout loss to Marist (5-4) in week 4 of the regular season. It was the lone blemish for Notre Dame, who claimed a share of the East Suburban Catholic Conference for the first time since 1981. While going to the straight 1-32 bracket will eliminate a lot more of conference opponents meeting in the first week of the playoffs, this is one that should be a good one for the fans. The teams pose a couple of highpowered offenses as Notre Dame averages 36.7 points per game and Marist tallies 38.7. The Don defense, however, allowed only 19.0 points per game, allowing only Marist to better the 35-point mark this season. Notre Dame is led by quarterback Tyler Tsagalis, running back Jimmy Topping and do-it-all athlete Tim Simon. Quarterback Brendan Skalitzky paces the Marist offense.

PLAINFIELD SOUTH Record: 5-4

Consecutive appearances: 1 Week 1: No. 26 Plainfield South at No. 8 Barrington - 4pm Saturday, Oct. 31 Outlook: The Cougars overcame two non conference losses to make the playoffs. After a slow start offensively, they have performed better in the second half of the season. However, the defense, after dominating several weeks of the year, has allowed four scores in two of the past three weeks. The defense needs to find its midseason form and force a few turnovers, while the offense needs to stay clear of turnovers and maintain possession of the ball to keep the defense from tiring as South looks for its first win in the playoffs since 2010. Meanwhile, Barrington has lit up the scoreboard this year, scoring 357 points. However, it is willing to give up points as well, allowing 203. The Broncos have allowed double digit points in all but one game this year. The offense has scored at least 24 points in every game, including 40 or more points six times. It will be a contrasting game between the two teams to determine who will move on. The winner will face the winner of Marist (5-4) and Notre Dame (81).

CLASS 7A In a class that has rivaled, if not passed Class 8A at times over the years, Class 7A again features some of the state’s elite programs with the likes of Mt. Carmel, Maine South and Lincoln-Way East. This season, it is Glenbard West at the top of the bracket. The Hitters posted their fourth undefeated regular season in the past five seasons. With Mt. Carmel (No. 16 seed) and Lincoln-Way East (No. 14) coming in at 7-2, the bracket could go a lot of directions and will be entertaining.

MAINE SOUTH/ PLAINFIELD NORTH Records: Maine South 7-2, Plainfield North 6-3 Consecutive appearances: Maine South 24, Plainfield North 2 Week 1: No. 22 Plainfield North at No. 11 Maine South – 7pm Friday, Oct. 30 Outlook: Maine South has battled back in a lot of games this season, but have pulled away for the wins, earning yet another Central Suburban League South title this year with a 5-0 league mark. Plainfield North had a chance to claim a share of its first-ever Southwest Prairie Conference title after handing Oswego its first SPC

loss in years, however, a loss to Minooka in week 9 thwarted that. The Hawks have an experience group led by quarterback Brian Collis, a three-year varsity starter, while Fotis Kokosioulis gets the bulk of the work on the ground. It is the experience from Collis and coach Dave Inserra, who has been to six state title games, winning three, that makes Maine South believe it can win any game. The Hawks pose a total playoff record of 57-25, while at 0-4, the Tigers have yet to win a post season contest. Plainfield North took down Oswego’s conference win streak and now will face a team that has a 75game conference win streak in their conference, the CSL South. The Tigers hope dual-threat quarterback DJ Ekowa is healthy

after getting injured late in the first half of their game Friday, although he did return for the second half. North appeared to be hitting its stride with four straight wins, but fell in the season finale to Minooka, 16-14. The defense has been solid all year as in their losses they’ve allowed a total of 39 points and only have up 20 or more points three times all year, all wins. They will need to be on their A-game if they want to come away with their first playoff win in program history. The winner will face the winner of Schaumburg (5-4) and Normal (81), the team that knocked the Tigers out of the playoffs last year. In a quadrant that sees No. 3 Libertyville as the highest seed, the winner of this game could play spoiler.

Plainfield North mourns beloved teacher By Jonathan Samples bugle staff

sweditor@buglenewspapers.com @BugleNewspapers

Susan Triplett-Cunningham was a physical education and health teacher at Plainfield North High School, but her students knew her simply as Miss Trip. “She was the teacher everyone went to when they had a problem,” said Jacob Gansz, a 2014 graduate of Plainfield North. “She always told me to keep going, to get through it, and you’ll have a good life.” Gansz was one of several former students who spoke during a candlelight vigil held Oct. 21 to honor the life of their favorite teacher. More than 300 current and former students, faculty, friends and family gathered to mourn Susan Cunningham, who was fatally stabbed the previous evening at her home in the 25000 block of Prairie Grove Court. A short time later, Craig J. Cunningham, Susan’s husband and suspect in her murder, walked into traffic on Interstate 55 and was killed. Both deaths are still under investigation. It was in the shadow cast by this tragedy that the Plainfield North community gathered Wednesday evening; their goal was to bring light to the darkest time in the school’s 10-year history and begin the process of mourning their beloved Miss Trip. “How do we mourn something that’s so tragic, something that’s so unexpected,” asked John Ciesniewski, pastor at Community Christian Church in Plainfield, where Cunningham attended. “I want to suggest that we at least start the dialogue tonight... I think that’s the first step in mourning her loss.” Cunningham came to Plainfield

North in 2006, but her employment at District 202 began at Plainfield High School Central Campus in 2002. Superintendent of Schools Lane Abrell hired Cunningham back then, when he was the principal at Plainfield Central. “All District 202 employees mourn Sue’s passing,” Abrell said in a statement. That sentiment was shared by current Plainfield North principal Raymond Epperson, who said he’s impressed with the caring and support his school displayed following the tragedy. “The staff pulled together today to support the students, and I see students supporting each other,” he said during the community vigil. “Ms. Triplett was a person who cared. I think the way that the students reacted today [and] will continue to act in the next weeks to come is a testament to her.” During the vigil, students passed around copies of “Trips Tips,” a list of self-empowering habits she encouraged her students to follow. Among them, “Dream big,” “Find something you like to do and work hard,” “Don’t keep unhealthy relationships,” and “Do what you can to help others.” Epperson said the school is planning to put up a banner containing “Trips Tips,” as a way to honor her place at Plainfield North and pass along her inspiring words to future students. Cunningham’s brother, Dan Brown, and closest friend, Elly Stonis, also spoke during the vigil. They said the outpouring of support they’ve experienced is evidence of the positive impact their sister and friend had at the school. “I hope that you all remember her “Trips Tips” and everything that was listed because they meant the world to her,” a visibly shaken Stonis

Susan Triplett-Cunningham. told the crowd. “Everything that she listed... is truly how she wanted you to lead your life. She wanted you to value your own life and yourself in your own unique, special way.” Shaye Soto was one of several students who remembered Miss Trip, but the 2015 graduate of Plainfield North said she was much more than a teacher. “She was our family,” Soto said. “I don’t think that I’ll ever meet

“We can all only learn to take nothing for granted and love those who are close to us,” she said. “Sue was taken from us way too soon. For many of us, life will never be the same, but we are determined to carry Sue’s legacy on for years and years to come.”
